MAJOR THOMAS CANDY CSI

Born 13th December 1809 - Died 1st January 1877

 

He was born 13th December 1809. On 11th January 1838 he married Carolina, daughter of John Jacob. He was a Major in the 20th Bombay Native Infantry and Superintendent of the Sanscrit College, Poona, Bombay; created CSI 1st January 1877. He died at Mahableswar, Bombay, aged 72 on Monday 126th February 1877.
