BETWEEN John Parkinson the younger of Bolingbroke, in the county of Lincoln, Gentlem= an, and Abraham Dunlin of the pari= sh of Horncastle, in the said county, Gentleman, of the first part, and the Reverend Edward Creswell, vicar of the vicarage of Laiton<= /span> in the county of Nottingham and diocese of York of the other part.... WITNESSETH that for and in consideration of 5/-.... they the said John Parkinson and Abraham Dunlin HAVE bargained ad sold unto the said Edward Creswell.... WHEREAS in consideration of £600 paid to George Hayton Fowler he covenants to repay the sum with interest at the rate of £4/10/0 per £100 per annum on the expiration of 6 calendar months.... WITNESSETH that the said Robert and Martin for and in consideration o= f a certain sum of money to them beforehand paid by the said Christopher Wray..= .. Memorandum of agreement ma= de 30th August 1769  BETWEEN John Billingt= on of Spalding, in the county of Lincolnshire, yeoman, of the one part, and Joseph Sleightho= lme of Spalding, watchmaker, of the other part.... that the said John Billington<= /span> shall and will in consideration of the sum of £105 convey and assure = by good and sufficient conveyances and assurances in the law unto the Joseph Sleightho= lme.... ALL  those= two messuages or tenements lying and being in Spalding, now in the several tenures of Robert Cunningham, James Sleightholme or their undert= enants, free from incumbrances (except the quit rents),= as also a bond to indemnify from dower of the wife of John Billington to be made, prepare= d by Mr John Richards at the charge of the said Joseph Sleightholme and to be tende= red at or before the 10th October next.

DEED TO LEVY A FINE

Indenture of four parts ma= de 8th February 1776  BETWEEN Joseph Sleightho= lme of Spalding, watchmaker, and Esthe= r his wife, of the first part, Mary = Heeld of Spalding, widow, executrix of the last w= ill and testament of John Heeld, of the second part, Thomas Brewster of Spalding, bricklayer, of the third part, and= Thomas Joes (?) of Spalding, gent= leman, of the fourth part   WHER= EAS by indenture of three parts dated on or about 6th October 1770 made between Joseph Sleightholme and Esther his wife, of the fi= rst part, and John Heeld, bricklayer, of the second part, and John Massey, the elder, of the third part, the said Joseph Sleightholme and Esther his wife in conside= ration of £120 demised and granted to John Heeld  ALL  that one messuage, then divided into two tenements, with the gardens, yards etc. in Spalding, between the lands heretofore of Mrs Bateman, and= then of the Reverend Doctor Buckworth in part, and a cer= tain drain called the Westloaden on the west side, abutting the lands of the said Reverend Doctor Buckworth on the ea= st, a messuage or tenement and yard of the heirs of Mathew Leighton on the north, and= on a certain street or lane there called Crackpost Lane to the south, formerly in the occupation of William Ellingworth, and then in the several tenures, possessions and occupations of Bartholemew Barlow and Thomas Parker, and were then lately purchased by James Sleighthol= me and Esther his wife of and fro= m one John Billington<= /span>, and also all that building or turret called the Abby Oven (then converted into a brewhouse= ), situated in Spalding, near to a certain place there called the Beast Market, late in the tenure or occupation of Mr John Parkinson, and then of Charles Stephenson....= did covenant to the said John Heelds that the said Joseph and Esther = would levy one or more fine or fines.....

Indenture of three parts d= ated 2nd February 1778  BETWEEN  Alice Sharp of Gosberton, in the county of Lincolnshire, widow, of the first part, Thomas Brewster of Spalding, bricklayer, of the second part, an= d Charles Gardiner of Spalding, gen= tleman, of the third part   WHEREAS  by indenture d= ated on or about 18th March 1777 made between Thomas Brewster of= the first part and the said Alice Shar= p of the other part, Thomas Brewster= , in consideration of £350.... DID GRANT all those ten new erected messuages or tenements with yards, gardens etc.... in Spalding, between the lands theretofore of Mrs Bateman and then of the Revere= nd Doctor Buckworth in part, and a certain dra= in called Westloa= d in part on the west part, abutting on the lands of the said Doctor Buckworth= in part on  the east, a messuage or tenement and yard of the heirs of Mathew Leighton on the north, and= a certain Street or lane called Crackpole Lane south, and then in the several tenures or occupations of Mrs Alice Cox, = widow, John Armstone= , Francis Gates, John Upton, Walter= Clarke, William Goodana, William Rippon, John Elsom, John Sharwin and James Wilson, with the yards or gardens, containing by estimati= on 10 perches, abutting on the lands of William Ellingworth, sometime since of Simon Billington= , afterwards of John Sleightholme and Esther his wife, and now o= f the said Thomas Brewster, as well towards the east and south upon a yard or garden sometime since of Mary Batemanm, widow, afterwards of Mary Smith, widow, lately of Thomas Parker= and now of John Atkinson towards t= he west, and a certain drain called the Westload to the north and northwest, which said last mentioned messuage etc... were last in the tenu= re or occupation of Samuel Marr, and= then of John Clarke   AND ALSO  all that one new erected messuage or tenement, built upon the last mentioned l= ands and premises, then in the tenure or occupation of John Lamb for 1000 years... unto Alice Sharp... at the rent of one pepper corn....

The deed is endorsed on 18= th March: A fine was acknowledged by the said Thomas Brewster and Jane his wife= to the said Reverend Richard Fox = for £200 mortgage taken up by Th= omas Brewster.

RELEASE

Indenture made 6th April 1811  BETWEEN  Thomas Thorpe of Spalding, merchant, and Stephen Markillie of the same place, grazier, of the first part, Robert Sutton, lat= e of Spalding, grazier, but now of Bourn, and Mary Hall his wife (lately called M= ary Hall Gask, spinster) of the second part, an= d William Thorpe of Bourn, gentlema= n, of the third part....WHEREAS  by indenture of Lease and Release and Settlement dated 24th and 25<= sup>th September 1806, the release made between Robert Sutton of the first part, Mary= Hall Gaske of the second part, and Thomas Thorpe= and Stephen M= arkillie of the third part, the premises following were to stand for the use of Robert Sutton for his life, with remainder to the use of Thomas Tho= rpe and Stephen M= arkillie during the life of Robert Sutton. For a consideration of £150 a messuage in Spa= lding was conveyed, abutting upon a tenement of Mr Thomas Thorpe, deceased, but now of William Harvey, esquire, to the north, upon the river Welland to the west, upon a= way and passage leading from the high street to the estate late of Mrs Ann Tatam, and now of the said Thomas Thorpe<= /b> to the south, and upon an estate late of the said Ann Tatam and now of the said Thomas Thorpe to the east, lately= in the tenure of the said Robert Sutt= on, and now of John Clement.....

Indenture of Release made = 7th April 1847  BETWEEN  Maria Gatling of Gosberton, spinster, of the first part, and B= enjamin Smith, of Norbling, gentleman, of the other part  WITNESSETH  that in consideration of £65= .... and in respect of the Power of attorney given to Maria by an indenture dated 6th April 1847 BETWEEN Ann Gray of the first part, and t= he said Mary Gatling of the second part, Richard Thompson of the third part, and Kilham Gaunt of the fourth part, enabling her to appoint that the below mentioned lands sha= ll be to the use of the said Benjamin= Smith.... a parcel of land containing 1 acre, 2 roods and 30 perches in Surfleet in the said county of Lincolnshire, abutting= upon the lands of Richard Thompson = east, lands of Henry Robinson Smith = west, lands of Bourn Baptists trustees north, and lands of Thoephilis Russell Buckworth south, now in th= e occupation of James Ludlow.
