DAVID ELLERAY (1954-)

A very great many people will remember David Elleray as a football referee, who gained much respect within the Football League as also FIFA. A fuller account on him may be found under Wikipedia..

He was also House Master of Druries House at Harrow School, and that is how we met, as my son was a pupil in his house at that time. A strict but fair referee, he was also a strict house master, and I believe a fair one, even if some of the boys did not share this opinion. He is certainly a most pleasant and engaging man and I wish him well in his retirement.
