THOMAS DUNSTERVILLE

Born c 1760 - Died after 1801

 

A son of Elias Dunsterville, he was born c 1760, and died after 1801. A shipwright of Plymouth, he is known to have made at least one boat that can be named, an 8 gun cutter called Trial which started service on 9th September 1790 and was deleted from the list in 1816. There exist two notices of bankruptcy, the one in the Exeter Flying Post No. 1975 of 20th August 1801, the other in the Sherborne Mercury of 25th June 1804. Both notices refer to Thomas Dunsterville of East Stonehouse, shipwright.

He married Lucy (possibly named Bell) who was born c 1765. They had at least one son:

1 John Bell Dunsterville, born in 1785, died 8th July 1833.
